XTZ660
is the XTZ660 engine basically the same as the XT600E engine? I just cant get my XT to start. it was bad fuelling, so i removed the carbs and gave them a good clean. it then started and ran pretty good, but as soon as i put on the bodywork it wouldnt start again, this time i have no spark!! ive tried everything i can think of, but im giving up after 2 months and there is a local MZ dealer who may sort it if the engines are similar, are they? the 660 looks like basically a bored out 600?

Sounds like you shorted the ignition circuit by pinching / cutting a wire when you put the bodywork back.
And no, they're not very similar. Sorry. The engine was used in a few other bikes though, so it shouldn't be hard to get it fixed... |
