XT660R
Does anyone have any views on/experiences with this new model - in either the supermoto or dual sport configuration? I seem to recall some unfavourable comparisons with its predecessor but cannot locate them in the forum.

Good, very favourable tests against other
dualsports in lots of magazines. Very good fuel consumption, excellent handling, good performance. Only two issues which are enough to stop me buying one. Low ground clearance of exhaust, and small fuel tank 15L These problems could be dealt with by a 'after market' manufacturer at some stage like touratech. Until then, i think i will wait. |

My research indicates likewise but I was hoping for some reports of live experience. It seems that no posters have one yet. Of course it is not available in the US. As to the pipes, agreed, it is odd to design them to be the lowest point to the ground. Also dual mufflers are weighty and wasteful but driven by anti-emission regs. An aftermarket system seems indicated - which would also release some HP. Tank capacity not too bad if it does 60 mpg.
