XT600z 1VJ 1988 battery fluid evaporating

XT600z 1VJ 1988

Hi out there,
Bought XT600z 1VJ 1988.
I own it a year I want to replace the tyres, what would you recommend 70% road 30% offroad use and what size?
Also the battery fluid has evaporated twice what would cause this, battery only 6months old.

hi there if the battery is boiling dry the bike is over charging , so the regulator/rectifire will have gone faulty. sort this out as soon as possibal or the battery will be toast , to be honest it is probably going to be iffy now , if it has done this twice already .:thumbup1:

battery fluid evapourating problem sorted

Thanks guys, ordered a voltage regulator on Ebay for 42euro (pattern part), fitted today now 12v across the battery when running. Battery is toast but I wanted to fix the over voltage before changing. It going to be kick start for a couple of days.

What battery size is it? I used a YB14L-A2 on my Tenere 3AJ (normally a yb12-al2 ) , tight fit , but superb.
