XT600e Slugish
Hi a friend has just bought a XT600e 2003 model with 8000 miles The bike is clean and in good condition. Its fitted with a predator exhaust.
I had a go on the bike and it seems a bit gutless it does not seem to rev as freely as any of my older XTs. I have a 43F from 1984 and this seems alot more responsive then the newer XT. I told my friend to check the air filter, he says is ok Are these bikes restricted in some way to meet the emmision laws Any idea what could be causing the bike to feel rather sluggish. Thanks |

Can't speak for the XT, but I had two XT350s (first a 1986, second a 1992) and the second one was very restricted - from about 33bhp to under 20 - to comply with emissions and noise laws, so it's definitely a possibility. It depends a lot on the market it is sold in. I don't think UK 600s were restricted, though.
