XT600E pickup coil

Does anyone know how much voltage (AC and DC) should I be getting from the pickup coil when cranking the engine? I have a feeling that my pickup coil is weak and is not generating enough voltage to tell the TCI to fire.

The important thing to check is not Voltage but Resistance. Check the wires for damage and corrosion (and both sides of the connectors). FROM MEMORY, the reading should be 150 Ohms (ish). If the reading is significantly higher, or no resistance, change it.
Also check the body of the pick-up for damage and the lug that rotates past the pick-up.

Good luck, Eddie.

Yes the resistance reads correct according to the manual for the pickup coil, I also opened up the stator cover and took out the pickup coil to clean and inspect and it didn't change anything. Weird thing is that when I put a soldering gun that emits ac pulses by the tip of the pickup coil , the spark plug fires multiple times, but when normal starter motor crank, it only spark once, and we all know that the single spark comes from the tci box's turn on feature.
