xt600e dynojetting?
 

Hi folks am new member!

I have just bought my first xt600 a 2001 model
I am wondering if anybody has dynojetted to stage 2 and if so is there much difference?
i am also waiting on a quill evo2 can an motad header pipes and im planning k&n filter and would like info on modding th airbox? and what do you think of can choice etc

if you go +1 on the pilot and +2 on the main jets you should be good as long as you don't modify the airbox much.

Hey, heres not a lot to get from the xt without diving into the engine.
The engine is made bulletproff, so overything is bigger and heavier.

You can make the bike more rideable, but you can also do that by openening youre stock exhasut, open the airbox and install a new airfilter, and jet accordingly.

If you go with a new header and an exhaust, do it for the looks, and see it as a + if you get a little more umf.

I've got:

Oversize stainless headers
Laser produro exhaust (opened up fully by the previous owner)
Opened up airbox
Pipercross foam airfilter.

If you do that or simular, heres a good estimate of the jetting:

+1 size in idle jet
Raise both needles 1 notch (lower the clip)
+1 on both primary jets.
Adjust Co screw

Havent tried the dynojetkits, so cant answer fot thoose.


Sometimes, i think, that for the money invested in pipes and shit, I've could have bought a 14T cs sprocket, and a new shock, and ride faster.

Consider what you want, and let us know.

+1. Been there, lost a lot of time and money, returnet to stock. Better to spend money on suspension or eaven better to spend money on a better bike.

well this is my first trails bike thought id get one as living in th highlands heaps of forestry tracks etc to go off on, but i know im going to miss the pulling power on the road (previously had cbr, gsx etc) so i figured dynojet kit an new exhaust etc will give it a lil bit more for on th road use

but im just really wanting to gauge what people think as i say first time with one of these.

You wont gain much, you can make it more "Rideable" but as i said, that can be done mithout significant costs.

I know this is a cliché, but if you want more, sell it and buy a stronger one.

I love my xt, it cant wheelie in 3rd like my buddy's on their xr600r and ktm 640 enduro, but mine works everytime. I just got over 77777km and the bike is still going strong. The ktm had the motor replaced at 12.000km.

Their bikes have more horses, and weigh much less. My xt600e weighs 180kg ready to ride. I think the XR is 50kg under that.
