XT600 Tenere Feul pump vacumn connection

Wondering if anyone can help with the connection from my fuel pump on my 1990 Xt600 Tenere.
After an embarrassing incident on a Bikesafe course with reserve failing and the copper thinking I'd crashed or something. :oops2: I've been pushed into sorting out the fuel pump. The vacuum pipe wasn't connected. I've pushed it onto what seems to be the right connection, but haven't a clue if it's the right one. It now draws fuel from a jar below the carb, but have yet to check it on the open road.Attachment 1667 The yellow pencil points to where i've attached it, am i right? Interesting that it works this way ....
This is not the correct connection for the vacuum line :-) The correct one, for the vacuum line going to the pump, is the connection on top of the LH carburettor boot (the rubber thing between carb and cilinder head). On your picture, you can just see it in the upper LH corner. The fuel pump has 4 connections: 1. Fuel into pump - see the arrow on the pump housing 2. Fuel to carb - see the arrow on the pump housing 3. Aeration of the pump - small connection, small hose pointing upwards, ending nowhere 4. Vacuum connection - as described above Auke |
