XT600 Stator

Hi All,
I'm new here was pointed at the site by a mate who tells me it's a good place for info.

I'm in the process of rebuilding a XT600 43F motor. The thing is the stator wiring has been butchered at some point. Whilst I'm happy to replace the wiring, the previous owner lost the rubber seal that the wires pass through and mounts on the cases. Does anyone know if this part is available as I don't want to seal the cases with silicone sealant as the P/O did?

Cheers

I think that the rubber seal is a part of the wire harness.

Yep, my thoughts as well, but wanted to check before I went searching for another stator

I would think its possible to find a rubber like that, but the big question is where.. Try asking at your local MC dealer. Then you have a problem fitting it, cut wires or cut the rubber...

I just looked on a parts diagram and the rubber unit is only available with a new stator assembly. You might be able to carve one out and fit it then make a hole to pass the wires through... Difficult but possible.

This area is prone to leak oil so a good seal is vital. Also seal the neutral switch in the channel going downward. My 86 was saturated with oil and leaked. I cleaned everything then used Yamabond to seal where the rubber mated the case. Dry as a bone now...

Looks like I'm after an other stator then...
