Crankpin required for 34L XT 600 needed in Cape town

Hi Guys
Yamaha has discontinued the part and automotive engineers in cape town seems a bit hesitant with making a new one (or at least the two that i tried) I need a new crankpin for engine being rebuilt on my 34L 1983 XT 600. The part number is 5Y-11681-00. My good friend Spannerman says there is stock on boats.net but their systems is not the most accurate- any one here that can help -thanks

Crankpin required for 34L XT 600 needed in Cape town

Hi all, just a correction here: part number is 34K 11681 00. 34mm pin please. Early 600s had a 34mm diameter pin. From 1VJ / 1986 on changed to 35mm.
Thanks.
Best,
p

cmsnl has it

https://www.cmsnl.com/products/pincr.../#.WuDWoDNLdzk

but would go with a rod/pin kit at this point just to be safe.
pro-x might have one

run into a wall a bit- Boats order from yamaha japan and although Yamaha south africa said it was discontinued- Boats says Yamaha japan can supply.

Unfortunately once paid boats sent a email delaying delivery till end of month- i left it like that and then monday this week they sent another saying delayed delivery till end june. I contacted Boats to inquire whats potting and they now saying its Yamaha Japan-and i can cancel the order if i want.

Another month is not a biggy but does not guarantee part will be there then either..
Anyone ..

Ordered new conrod and crankpin for my 34L ten resto.....received following email from partshark regarding part supply from Japan. I will wait but I suspect nil stock so might need to come up with another plan. Ordered same items a year ago for another project and received ok. Will make it harder and more costly to rebuild these early engines if this is the case!

The following part(s) listed below are on Yamaha,

Please let us know if you can wait on the back ordered part(s).

Your other parts are ready to ship.

Seems about same as my boats reply below saying Yamaha is to manufacture still??

May 9 (4 days ago)
to me
No sir we do not have this part in stock and neither does Yamaha. The eta dates are provided by yamaha and they are the ones who keep pushing it back. Right now they are show June 28th. If you would like we can cancel the order for you and issue a refund.
May 11
Yamaha says that right now they are saying June 28th. It could be sooner or later. They can not guarantee a date for something that has to be manufactured.

Pretty fooked i suppose unless there is one on some dealers shelve-
Can you confirm dimensions of crankpin
Thanks
Sean

Sean...see this thread on tenere.co.uk for dimensions. Also an idea there on using late model easily available conrods on early model smaller crankpins via use of different suzuki big end bearing...although that wont help you if your crankpin is bad!

You found out why I quit buying anything from Partzilla/Boats.net , 95% of the orders will change to months backorder after about 3-4 days . Those orders I forgot to cancel have never been shipped till 6 months later .

Any chance you can just get a whole crank rather than the individual pin ?
