Strainer
I guess you are not referring to the oil filter Joe (you've been doing work on that) - so the oil "strainer" must be where the oil is scavenged from the sump and pumped back to the oil storage tank.
Shows in your manual? (for my bike it is a flattish, pancake type of thing low down in the sump according to my manual - buried deep in the workings and I have never seen it therefore). Dave

Thanks again for all your help. This site is GREAT!!! I pulled both valve adjusting plugs with it running and there is lots of oil getting to the top of the head, so I think I will run it and see what develops. If you ever get to Montana or the western US give me a call. Thanks Joe Billow |
