XT600 engine

I am just about to buy an XT600 engine for a project but I need a bit of info as to which model it came from & what year.

It is described as a 392, it has kick & electric start(missing), it also has a decompressor on the cam cover & rev counter drive.

Hope someone can help.
Interesting to read the threads about single carb conversion.

hmm check lower screw from oil filter cover, seems like you will find something wrong there.. it's NOT the original screw, be prepared to put an Helicoil there. Do it with someone that knows his work, to avoid to close oil flow.
