XT600 Egypt preparations
Hi guys, I've posted this already in the preparations section but since this is the Yamaha (XT600) forum, I thought it wouldn't hurt to re-post here and hope for some more replys:
Hello, I'm planning a trip for the spring/summer of 2011. We want to get to Egypt through Turkey, Syria and Jordan. I'm driving a XT600Z 3AJ (the double headlight tenere) and wonder what would be the best choice in taking spares and tires. I have no idea about road conditions on the way, and in summer it'll probably be too hot for going into the sahara when we're in Egypt. So what kind of tyres are suitable for such a trip? Preferably without making tire changes. And what kind of spares should I take for my XT? I already made a little list, am I missing something essential? - ignition coil - rectifier - sparkplugs - spokes - clutch cable - piece of drivechain - chaingrease - oil - oil filter - air filter - tubing (for fuel and fuelpump vacuum) - lightbulbs - wiring for electrical + plugs - cable ties and tape - some gaskets? I'm changing brakedisks just before I leave, brakepads, and degass the lines. Also changing sprockets and chain, oil, oil filter and air filter. And of course a new set of tires. |
