XT600 2KF engine In 34L frame
Guys,
I have a Yamaha XT600, bought as a bit of a basket case, I have assembled what I can with the aid of a clymer manual but am now stuck. The frame is an 1983/4 34L with a 2KF engine slapped in. I am having a problem with the wiring. Do I need to change the Rectifier and CDI box for 2KF compatable ones or will these do, and if so, can you give me some very basic clues on how! |

2KF CDI unit will work with 34L (43F) alternator.
the only differences (and what might have confused you) are the side stand switch (which doesn't exist in 34L and most 43F) and the neutral switch (which are connected to the 2KF cdi, but not to 34L cdi). please refer to the wiring diagrams: http://www.xt600.de/xt_werkstatt/+te...plan/index.htm it is simple to adapt the wiring. regards klaus |
