XT600 2002 long range fuel tank

Hello. After some advice on a long range fuel tank for my XT600 2002 model. I am trying to track one down but only seem to have found some on the touratech website for bikes up to 1999? Will this be ok for mine?

Has anybody had any success fitting a tank to this model before?

Hey, Jim! Touratech as well as KEDO has two large tanks for the XT6oo: 20lt for earlier models and 23lt for later models. You need the 23lt tank, it's an Acerbis tank and they fit well, even with the original seat. Look on KEDO - Performance Products or KEDO - Performance Products ,you can order online. XT rules, greetings, Hans.

2002 xt600 long range tank

Hi Jim
This is my first post so probably not worth the time its taken to work out how to post it! I'm in the same position, trying to get a long range tank for a 2002 XT. Only official option i've found is the Acerbis 23l job that Hans mentioned. I am looking at getting a 30l tank made, based on one a mate has on his wife's 1996 XT - i gather they used to make a larger tank back in the day! this will cost probably less and be quicker than getting an Acerbis tank ordered from europe and sent to NZ for me! Not much help, but you're not alone!

tank

Hmm I believe that to have a custom made tank will not be cheaper than buy an already on the market one... there are ppl selling big tanks custom made but their prices are usually crazy... And if seldom you can find an used one it costs anyway more than a new acerbis. Unless you have a friend that does this job..

Acerbis 23l tank

Hi, I have the Acerbis 23l (black) tank - what a pleasure! It does 450km before reserve (which is more than my Subaru Forester!), it looks good, has no silly and expensive airscoops that kept cracking on the original tank, is comfortable and survived a dirt road highside with only about the same size roastie as my hip. It didn't take long to ship out here to South Africa and was a fair price. I recommend it to anyone who ventures out of town on an XT600e.

In Brazil we use the Gili 21.5 liter tank.

Produtos Gilimoto Design's

I think the Acerbis looks better though in my opinion.
