xt600 1991 and tt600 1984 engines

I live in sweden and i have putted a xt engine together. now It won´t start. can it be the camchain in wrong position? there is 3 marks on the crankshaft gear in the inspection hole. i put it on the middle mark. and the cam gear has two marks and I put that horisental with the plane surfice of the cylinderhead. and the sprocket hole straight up. is that the right way?the valve cover on the engine has a inspectionhole. not on the tt engine what shall it be in there? i have read this in the manual for xt tt 83-89 manual. is it the same? when i cranked the engine by hand i didn´t think there was much compression. it was easy to crank it by hand. can it be the firingplug that is old? shall try a new one. I allso putting a tt600 engine together. I´m a putting a xt cylinder on the tt engine. just the cylinder and not the head. the two bolts from the head don´t fit but a shop mashined new holes and now it fit perfekt. what do think about that? regs jimmy
