XT550 new owner a few questions...
Hello,
Just got an XT550 last night, its been sitting for a few years in storage. Not good I know but it was cheap. Its blowing oil into the airbox and out the pipe, I seen where someone else mentioned that if it was to full this would happen. How much oil does the thing hold? Since its got an oil tank in the frame what is involved in changing it? I got it started today and it ran semi-ok needs carb cleaned besides blowing oil everywhere. Thanks Terry |

Oil level
Quote:
there should be a dipstick on the oil filler cap to show correct level I can't remember the routine for getting all the oil drained but seem to remember an extra drain plug at the bottom of the front downtube of the frame. heres my old one, back in the good old days of the Dhakla convoys ![]()
