Secure Motorcycle garage in London?

Tentative inquiry. I am unsure that this post should be in this section, but it is related.
First let me explain, I have two bikes, the first is an everyday use bike and the XT 3aj, which is a project, yet used bike, and therefore is used as and when. Here is the problem (as most of you will be aware) living in East London with a M/bike, particularly an xt, the low life that see such a bike appear to believe it is their right to have it for themselves (two stolen previously). I have no garage to do work on the bike, which means I have to carry my tools up and down to 4th floor from the exposed communal yard where I live.
The inquiry is, I require a safe place to store and work on my XT.
Storage facilities are not cheap and most don’t allow maintenance to be carried out.
I am thinking that there are more of you here on the HUBB (some) in East London, in a similar situation, and might consider a shared secure lock up?
My trade as a gardener and many years of doing my own M/C maintenance may be of interest, as I could return my knowledge/ time in exchange for a garage.
I am inviting (almost!) any ideas on this.
Regards
Socks

You could ship the 3AJ to Australia Socks, there's room in TÈNTÈRÈ for your bike with a some friendly TÈNÈRÈ fans, but London? your going to be lucky to find a spare inch without unloading your dough from your wallet.

Thanks Mezo,
The invite is sure a tempting offer and gave me a warm heart feeling, particularly looking at your set up in Tentere land.
You are spot on with your assessment of London and prices, the very reason I’m looking at alternatives. The number of hits this thread has had kind of suggests I’m not the only one with this predicament. So I’m still hoping that someone will come forward with some (any) idea’s.

I did keep my 55w in the living room (loved the surprised looks and comments when receiving visitors) whilst recovering from a major accident some years ago. It was the only safe place for it. Having rebuilt it top to bottom and putting it back on the road. It was stolen and totally burnt out after the low life had finished with it. Hence, my trepidation of parking the 3aj without a secure garage.

Hope your sight is well on the mend now.

secure parking

Hi socks have you managed to secure a place for your XT yet?
I live in the shadows of Canary Wharf and am also looking to secure a safe place for parking my bike. Where are you? Maybe we could meet for a and have a chat to see what the possibilities are. If you have already found somewhere perhaps there might be room for my small bike.

It would have to be in reasonable distance to me of course.
I can'nt PM you yet as I have only just joined "Hi everyone
and need to do a few more postings I think, maybe you can PM me?

Hello and to the Hubb, MBB

I have not yet found what I am looking to get for my XT, as I currently have it in a safe place, just that it is not ideal in terms of distance from home.
Yes, would be happy to meet up for a drink and a chat. I will PM you!

Thanks

Hi Maybebaby,
I have sent you a PM (Private Message) about meeting up, on the subject of "secure lockup". PM's are found if you click on your user name. Not wishing to sound impatient, simply that I am not available to meet up for a week or so after this Sunday, so kind of hoping a meet tommorow. As I say, I'm in no paticular rush for lock up, it would be simply more conveniant for me to have my bikes secure and closer to my home.
Tell us what your "small" bike you have maybe! Your call!

Speak soon

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
