XT 600 Tenere 34L Hot Start Difficulty
I wonder if anyone has any tips. My 34L starts perfectly when cold but having ridden for a while and then stopped - the bike becomes very difficult to start. A mate mentioned that the trick was to open the throttle slightly or turn up the idle screw - but in my case this is not a guarantee.
The bike runs like a dream - and it used to start typically with the first kick. What is incorrectly adjusted ? |

Yes, very very difficult
This is the pilot jet adjustment. See other posts for proper setting.
Also, as a help, increase the idle speed a bit. When kickstaring, do not touch the throttle. Firmly grasp the grip with the throttle closed and the front brake engaged. Then start. Auke |

Typically, if it starts when cold, even without choke and difficult when hot, the pilot screw adjustment is slightly rich. If it start easily when hot, it may be a touch too lean.
