no aftermarket, but you can find on ebay sometimes, original plastic parts should be available but with high prices.

thing I did was sand the plastic with 360 grit and painted it with Duplicolor spray on truck bed liner in a can. Comes out flat black with texture and doesn't come off like paint. worked great and since I was looking for black plastic it saved me a lot of money. I had maybe 15 bucks into it.

my problem is that the ferrings under the gas tank are all cracked...essentially those are the only pieces I need, but i have considered painting them...are they hard to clean with the truck bed liner?

I'd be interested in some new plastics too, but not at OEM prices! The trouble with s/h stuff is that it has all suffered the same damage as the bits you are trying to replace - in my case, the mounting lugs snapped off. If any came up on eBay in perfect condition, my guess is that they would fetch very good money indeed.

I'm interested in the truck-bed liner idea, but am also concerned that cleaning would be an issue.

As to the air scoops, 90fiveoh, leave 'em off - it looks fine without! (Well, mine does, anyway, I think.) They serve no useful purpose apart from 'styling'.

yeah ive seen the oem prices and if i put new plastic on from them it would equal more then i paid for the bike! I'll try taking the air scoops of this weekend and see how i like it. wasnt sure if it would expose wiring ect..

Nothing exposed except the little brackets welded onto the tank for the mountings. To be honest, I took them off a few weeks ago and I hardly notice they're missing now. I've promised myself an Acerbis tank one day, in which case it won't be an issue.

Air scoop supliment

I took mine off----cut out a template ,with thin cardboard/thick paper.Transfered that to some dense 5mm foam i had laying round. bought some "Leopard skin" material, conned "she who rules" to sew it round the edges.& stuck that on. Looks cool!!!!.
Did it in one piece, wrapping it in front of the seat, held @ the sides by the bolts for the scoops & a little contact glue.------AL
