What Xt600 clutch covers fit the 1VJ Help

Hiya, troubles again.

I want to replace my XT600 tenere 1VJ clutch cover. but I have brought three 1VJ covers now and each has its own (interestingly different) problem.

It has dawned on me that a different models cover could fit onto the 1VJ: eg the 3AJ, it doesnt have the kick start but does it have a removeable hole I could poke through the kick start lever? Anyone any informative information here?
Having the kick start is important to me, and I want to retain it.

Anyone have a spare cover floating around that they want to hand over?

Cheers G

up 94`

Hi.

I think any cover up to 94´ model xt´s will fit and they have a removable plug in the cover for the kickstarter.Covers from 95 still fit but you will have to get a hole machined in them for your kickstarter.
Don´t forget to mount the support ring from your old cover if you use a cover from an engine that haven´t been fitted with a kick before.

Thanks Tom, all solved, managed to get my hands on a good secondhand one and got a repaired one for free.

Interesting to know that though for the third one if I ever need it!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
