what tires?

Does Anyone have experience with "Avon Distanzia" Tires?

I am looking for the right tires to fit on my TT600RE, for town commuting but also touring europe and morocco, mainly on-road, and the occasional off-road / trail...

I also like the Metzeler Karo, but worried that they wouldn't last long, if riding long stretches on tarmac (?)
Considering the Metzeler tourances as well, which are rather road oriented but people say they behave well on off-road trail and small stones.

I guess it's difficult to find the right compromise,
any help appreciated.

My choice, for Central Asia this summer (caa 18000 km):

1. Michelin Sirac (on bike)
Front: 90/90-21
Rear: 120/80-18

2. Bridgestone Trail Wing 302 (reserve)
Front: 90/90-21
Rear: 130/80-18

Hello, there! I run Avon Distanzias on my XT500 and they do perform well onroad(wet and dry), however not recommended for offroad use. On my XT600E I run Metzeler Tourance, which perform well onroad(wet and dry) and slightly better offroad then the Avons. Both got good mileage. If you decide to go more offroad, you might consider Conti's TKC80's, which also perform rather well onroad. You might read the topics on this matter: so many people, so many opinions. Good luck! Greetz, Hans.

I run Distanzias on my XT600E and have had no problems wet or dry, but I stay on tarmac. Only offroad is across campsites. I like them.
When the bike was new it came fitted with Bridgestone Trailwings. These wore away at an alarming rate on tarmac.

Pirelli MT90 /AT scorpions. 140/80 18 and 90/90 21. Good road grip, not bad off road and long lasting, had 16000km out of a rear.

Distanzia

Hi,

I would not be able to rate the tyres compare to others brands but I just fitted my second set today because the previous one lasted almost 35000 km of mostly tarmac, the rear had style a little life on it but the front was very used
I can't say I was impressed on off road performance at all to be honest because the pattern get very quickly stuffed when it's mucky
Hope this help
