usually a metzeler enduro 3 is a fair compromise for dual use. size is your choice, or follow your bike book prescriptions, or get what you find more easily..

Yer I like the Sahara 3 for when i do more road than dirt..

I just fitted a Metzeler Karoo to my XT and it is brilliant in the dirt, good on dry roads but a little hairy on wet tarmac.

As for size... 130/80/17 works well.

I have TKC80 on my 1989 XT600 3AJ
The bike is used mainly on tarmac and tyres are good on road and off road.
They last well I got 10000 miles from the front and abit less from the rear.
Rear tyre is 120/90/18

Have just signed up to photobucket and trying it out
