What model is my engine?
Just noticed my '02 xt6e has a head stamped 2kf, yet the barrel is 3aj... is this unusual?

Hi Pottsy hope you are well.
We met in Bosnia I was on the TTR. As for your engine all air cooled XTs built after about 88/89 will have a 3AJ barrel and both my XTs both 3AJ models have a 2KF head as well as my TTR which is 1999. If you can see your engine number it should begin 3TB if it is a 600e model.

Hey Bolla! Great to hear from you after that oh-so-brief Mostar coffee. I hope that Jajce and Sarajevo pushed your buttons as they did mine...
Ta for the info - you confirmed my suspicions, the bike's smoking like Krakatoa  but at least the barrel should be ok being original, so i need to investigate a possible valveguide or oil non-return valve problem - deep joy!
