Varient Difference?

Hey folks,
Bit of a question here, I have a 2003 XT600E and am looking for another for my partner for the trip. I've come across one for sale in the BUY/SELL column but it's a 1993 XT6003TB. It looks exactly the same and was wondering would the spares apckage I'm taking for my '03 model be ok for the '93 model??
Or look elsewhere..?

Possible differences

Hi,

The only one major changes that I am aware of are, the clutch cable moved from entering the engine on the left to on the right. A this time the right outer engine case was changed which makes it far more complicated to fit a kick-start. I think the primary drive ratio was changed at this time, whick might affect the number of teath on final drive sprocket. The gearbox was also made more durable.

Unfortunatly I don't know when these changes came in other that to say after 1991. It might be worth looking in spare parts catalogues to see if manufacturers list both the same part number for both years for brake shoes, spark pluge, C & S and anything else that's on your spares list.

Hope that's of some help

similarities

Ignition unit (TCI) is the same, coil also, stator also.:thumbup1:

Carburetor jets should be a bit different, but air filter the same.

Front fork different, front disk different (2003 bigger) wheels and rear disk same.
