valve clearannce adjustment

Hello Mates :

My xt started to sound the valves ( noisy loose valves ) with the engine cold for almost 8 minutes more or less, but after that, the sound stopped. Is it true about the valve clearance adjustment at every 6000 km?

And other thing...

When you adjust the valve adjustment, on the exhaust cover valves are like circular shape and in the inlet valves they've got a rhombus shape, i know that for the inlet but in the exhaust cover with a circular shape it has a bolt in the middle of it.

Do i have to remove this circular cover to check or adjust the valve adjustment for the exhaust valves?

thanks

I've never had to adjust the valves. When I bought the bike I checked them and they were ok. When I put a new piston in @ 50.000 km. they were still ok. Sounds more like the distribution chain to me.
