Upgrade TT600 6V to 12V
Finally bought my '86 TT600. With 6V electrics and very weak lights. Also, there's no battery.
Thinking of upgrading, and I'm sure the alternator of the 55W or older XT models will fit. But, does anybody know whether the 6V system could be made 12V by just installing a different regulator. And, what I don't want is the original Yamaha regulator as it only charges when it 'sees' a battery with 12V or more. Won't work as I do not want to have a battery. Any help appreciated. Auke |
