Tyres - which one??
 

It is time to replace the rear tyre on my bike. The current rear is an IRC trials tyre and the front a Bridgestone Trailwing. The previous owner installed the IRC trials tyre. I understand the bridgestone to be original equipment. I currently ride the bike 80% on road and the rest a mix of dirt tracks and beach riding. I have chosen four potential replacements those being:
1) Pirelli MT 60 or Scorpion MT90 A/T
2) Michelin Sirac
3) The original Bridgestone Trailwing TW42

I am just wondering if u guys have had any experince with these tyres. I am particularly interested in a tyre which lasts and gives good on road grip but provides reasonable performance in light off-road conditions.

Michelin Sirac are exceptionally hard-wearing , but also with a very bad grip both on road and off-road...
Pirelli Scorpion are good on road but practically useless on the dirt.
I had very good experiences with Michelin T63 , that are good enough on asphalt to touch with pegs , and have a sure grip off-road, last about 5000 kms, slightly less than the more road-oriented Metzeler Enduro3, and cheaper too!

hi OXXT, i have trailwings on my xt600e and i thought about changing them for something better on the advice of mates who said they were rubbish.trouble was they were almost new, so i had to wait till they wore a bit or it would have been dumb to junk them.
i only ride on road, so i thought they wouldnt last 6months.im happy to say they are great,good grip on englands usual oil soaked rainy roads, and havent hardly worn.

also be careful having different makes of tyres F+R,you maybe lucky or you may be in for some `interesting` handling.

PS i have no idea how they perform off road!!
