tyres pressures

can anyone tell me a suitable pressure for road tyres fitted on the original rims on an 84 xt600

My manual says 1,5 bar, and a little more when fully loaded og with a "heavy" (non-japaneese ) driver =)

thanks, it will be for general everyday riding, commuting etc unloaded except for my portly weight!
