Faulty TPS on new Yamaha's

Just came across this article on the danish motorist website (the translation is my own)

Yamaha has found a problem with many of their newest models

Models equipped with TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) create an error if the bike is ridden hard. The problem especially occurs on freeways where the bikes more often are ridden fast for extended periods of time.

In Sweden and Germany, dealers have begun to recal the models with the problem. The danish Yamaha branch has not done the same, eventhough the bikes are exactly the same.

However, danish Yamaha-models will get their TPS exchanged as the bikes are serviced. People who service their own bikes will however not benefit from this.

If you are the owner of a model with TPS, you should check up if the bike cuts out or behaves strangely after extended rides at high revolutions. The models containing the fault are YZF R1, FZ6, MT01, FJR 1300, XV 1700, XT660 and TDM 900 (2005, 2006 & 2007)

I seem to remember an older post mentioning something about engine stalls on the XT660R but forget the situation in which it occured. Regardless, it seems that Yamaha have aknowledged a fuelintake problem and have come up with a solution to solve it under the warranty. Well, at least in Sweden, Germany and Denmark .

As far as I'm aware there is currently an international recall on Yamaha bikes to replace the TPS BUT
I think this only applies to larger inline 4's and some of the larger V's
I know it applies to all FJR's from 2000 to 2006, FZ, YZF etc.

The issues associated I believe are slow speed surges and stalls. My FJR doesn't surge at low speed since having the TPS changed

My friend has a brand new XT660 SM.

It used to cut out when you are on low revs round tight corners etc..

He got a new ECU map by recall and guess what.... !! IT STILL DOES !
