TTR600 (MY 1999) does not start | No spark

My TTR600 (MY 1999) does not start. To me it seems there is no spark.
1st I thought the condenser has failed, but it seems to hold charger quite well, when charged using external power supply. After I connect the charged condenser for the bike and turn main switch on, the condenser is discarged in a second; neutral light comes on for less that one second. I tried to do a bit of trouble shooting with multimeter. The finding is that conderser terminals are shorted when main switch is on; conderser red wire is grounded. To me this finding points that there is short somewhere in the wiring. Does this sound plausible? Or is my understanding of the system operation incorrect? Any educated quesses what might be the root cause? Many thanks in advance for all the support. |
Hi have a trawl through this site ,might help ,one time i couldnt start my tt600r i traced it to a loose wire from the back of the indicator switch earthing out
