Tt600r cdi

Heya all

My CDI unit for my TT600R has failed.Had to leave the bike in a village to come to Bogota to try and source one.Anyone has any information on how to get my hands on one?Today its a holiday so bike shops are closed.Tomorrow will start my search.Need to know if its possible to find one that isnt original because im sure here in Colombia getting a new original yamaha CDI will cost me and arm and a leg. TT600R never existed in South America so need to know of any bikes that used similar cdi units.

Thanks in advance

Dimitri

Hi Dimitri,

I´ve got one from a 1995 TT600S. I don´t know if it fits TTR.

HI
Are you really sure that CDI is the problem? If you are not try to find electric multimeter and check:rectifier/regulator,ignition coil, resistance of spark plug,pick-up coil..CDI at the end.Sometimes it's only voltage regulator inside the CDI box which is fried..
I have a spare CDI but I'm afraid you first should find nice colombian girl to stay with her for some months, before CDI can reach you.
Good luck

Remember the REAL XT600 experts are here!

I am always very doubtful of workshop mechanics who describe themselves as being expert. :( Often this only equates to being expert at relieving their customers of their hard earned dosh!

The best mechanic I have ever come across is a minibus driver (Pete) who lives in Tenterden Kent. What he doesn't know about taking motorcycles apart isn't worth knowing... Seriously he's fantastically clever with motorcycles of all types. He's the ONLY person I trust with any of my bikes. He's my best'est and oldest mate to boot.

It makes me laugh when I read motorcycles being sold using the following term "partial service history" lol. doh Most of the home mechanics I know do a far better job than the so called professional experts...

Anyone buying a bike would be well advised to take more notice of the condition of the bike than any "DEALER" service history. If it looks mint then it's been taken care of. Simples...

Glad you sorted your problem out. :thumbup1:
