Since 94 TT600 are built by Belgarda , Italian YAMAHA subsidiary with engine "made in japan" , XT 600 are still built in Japan , apart from this , these are (AFAIK) the basical differences for bikes on sale now:
XT600E - Road-oriented , tamer motor with 39 hp, low-seat ,suspensions shorter and not reglable, 17" rear wheel, steel rim,dry weight 158 kg TT600E - Dual-sport , 43 hp motor (same as old) electric-starter, Better suspensions but not reglable, alu rim, 18" rear wheel, dry weight 150 kg TT600R - Offroad , 45/46 hp motor, shorter gears , kick-starter, very good suspensions (ohlins) dry weight 138 kg Klaus, and others too, may add orr correct to this list ...I probabily would choose a TTR for Africa riding, altough in reality I stick with a pre-89 XT "revamped" and shed the money for the trip..... |
