tt600 rear brake banjo bolt switch
 

Hi TT'ers,

Do these banjo bolt rear brake light switches have to be wired up in a certain way or does it matter not which of the pair of wires from the stop light goes onto the bayonet fittings from the switch? the reason I ask is because I got a new switch and wired it up and it worked. I then fiddled about with the wires and it doesn't work. Touching the wires from the stop lamp together activates the stop light but connecting them to the switch and depressing the brake lever results in darkness.

the two wires on the banjo switch one is fed a positive feed the other is the switched pos output which goes to the brake light.
basicly pos in, pos out when fluid pressure triggers the switch.
as long as you have pos in on one wire and the brake pressure is enough to trigger the switch it should work ok

Managed to divert the grandson from losing all my tools and checked the brake fluid pressure. No fluid coming out when depressing the brake pedal. Drained, refilled and bled. Connected the wires, pressed the brakes and was nearly blinded by the light.

It is good you had no problems bleeding the breaks. It can be a pain sometimes...
