TT600 Front End swap to YZ

Hi Guys,
I am new to the forum and just wanted to ask if anybody had heard of or done a fork / front end upgrade on the TT/XT.

I have heard mention that it is possible to fit a YZ front end to these machines to gain a more serious fork set up.

Any body got any suggestions regarding rake ? difficulty in fitting the steering head ...

The other alternative that I was thinking of was a later model TT600 fork setup off something like the belgarda.

The bike I have is a 1987 TT600

Any feedback welcome

The TT600 front end uses 43mm forks, which is the same as MANY Honda bikes. I know the KX500 used a 43mm at some point, as does the XR650L (even now), and so forth. That way you keep the stock triples.

If you get rid of your front end, let me know. I want to spice up the front end of my drum-only 1984 TT600.

TT600 Forks UpGrade?

Hi, I have a 1984 TT600 59X model. I purchase a set of KX250 front forks 43mm tubes, and slide them right in. 1986 is the year of that fork. All for $100.00!! Had to replace the front rim, stock kaw rims do crack. Been on now for a few years work great! No more fear to go down big hills!! Can stop now without hitting the back wall!! Hope this Helps! Late 80's early 90's YZ 490 (43mm) forks go straight in using standard XT/TT top and bottom fork clamps, leave rake ect as it is. Use YZ brakes and XT/TT brake master cylinder, only promblem might be sorting out speedo drive as YZ didn't use one, use XT/TT wheel and make sure speedo drive can't spin or move on the axle.
