Sometimes, when it first starts is there a single hard knock sound?

I checked whether the oil comes up to the cylinder head ... and I checked the oil pressure ...and everithing is ok...Then I decided to take off engine from frame and check condition off head, barrel and piston...engine is on the table http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/...ps01486210.jpg

I'd appreciate it if anyone would have to give me a link or send me the workshop manual to mail...

thanks...head and barrel are removed from engine...what I found:cam on camshaft are worn and with measuring i determine that is under tolerance(especially exhaust),one exhaust valve look like this http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/...psefeedaf0.jpg

piston, piston pin, barrel, small end look good without some big damage...but I take them to some workshop on measuring...

http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7f028735.jpg (small end)

http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/...psc69b7aa1.jpg (piston pin)

http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/...ps68dec3bc.jpg (piston)

http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4f129c2e.jpg (barrel)

http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0c0436fe.jpg (rocker arm)

http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/...psc7abcbb3.jpg (rocker arm2)

http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3ffa20b8.jpg (camshaft1)

http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/...psa0abcd1c.jpg (camshaft2)

And one IMPORTANT question...did compleat head from tt600e 2001(cylinder mark 3aj00,head mark 2kf) fit on 3aj with same marks...did there any difference in camshaft...i found one cheap...?

Hi might be to late, but I had a similar problem with the noise prominantly on the right side cover. when pulled down it was a flogged out key on the counter balance shaft to drive gear. This noise was most noisy when reved from idle as this gives max movement on the shaft. brett
