TT600 1999 model electrics re charging.

Hi.
Have a XT600 98 model with a TT600r 99 model motor in it. Have just purchased the bike and got it registered. Starting to set the bike up for traveling and want to know is the TT's charging system the same as the XT's in relation to output. I am looking to fit a socket so I can charge mp3 players, mobil phones and the like while riding. Would it be advisable to get the charging system upgrade to do that sort of thing or is the TT system up to it? Also the motor is kickstart only is it possible to fit an electric start to this or not without pulling the motor apart?
Thanks Ernie.

It takes almost no current to charge such small devices, so you should be fine, even if it charges way less.

I have had a kickstart engine in my tenere and it should be an electric so I pulled the cases apart and they are different. There is no housing for holding the electric motor on.

You need a complete engine as the charging system is different too.The rotor and stator are bigger on electric starter ones.

Thanks for your replies. I will fit a socket and use a small inverter from home. We have a 150 watt unit that we use for our phones etc (no mains power just solar at home) and give that a try failing that a few 12volt charging adapters will be purchased. And with the engine will replace with an electric start xt of similar year when I get sick and tired of kicking it.
Thanks again Ernie.
