The engine is definitely running better but it's not as big a difference as you might think, which is testimony to just how strong these XT600 engines are, before the rebuild the bike always started great and had lots of power, the only difference near the end was the oil consumption and smoky exhaust, otherwise it ran great right up the moment it wouldn't start.
After the rebuild there's a little more power and combined with the Arrow exhaust I've gained enough power and torque that I may have changed my mind about switching to lower gearing, ideally I'd like to have a ratio of 3.43 To 1 - 14/48 sprockets, I presently have 3.36 - 14/47s which could've used a little help, but now since the rebuild even on the steepest tightest trails I'm able to pull the next gear without much trouble, the engine also feels a little more responsive, quicker throttle response and more torque, in other words it runs WICKED !!! bier
