Tooth Fairy!!!
Yep, my 1vj has just been visited by the tooth fairy, or at least the oil pump has. Just opened up the engine as far as the crankcase after finding a gear tooth in one of the oil pump openings. Deep joy! Going to delve deeper one night this week. This engine has been worked on by a comedian with a toolbox full of hammers and chisels. One of the five towers in the clutch hub is broken (clutch nut chiseled off). Any of you guys got a spare? I am in Scotland.
Right, main question, I know uprated gears exist, but do they last? Are they 3aj,3tb? I already have a new 3aj pump to go in. What bearings should I replace? Should I just bite the bullet and find xt600e engine and slot it in? Feel better after a wee rant, Neil

Just opened engine up, found another loose tooth, thought the worst, and to my surprise, the gears are cherry.
Seems someone had replaced the gears but hadn't taken the debris out of the cases. Nice surprise. Can anyone help me with a clutch hub?  Neil
