TKC 80's on 3AJ Tenere

I have just bought a 1989 3AJ Tenere which is in dire need of new rubber.

I'd like to fit a matched set of the Continental TKC80 tyres, but am getting conflicting info as to what will fit the rear wheel.

So......to try and clear this once & for all - the big question is:

What is the largest tyre I can SAFELY fit onto the standard rear rim?

Cheers

Should be 4.60-18 (130/80-18 metric). As far as i know the TKC80 is not available in that size though (at least metric) so you'd have to get a 120/90-18
However you should know that the TKC80 will not last you longer than ~6000-7000km. If you want a more durable knobbly tire I would recommend Enduro 1 for the front and Enduro 2 for the rear.

Edit: If you know some German this website is definitely going to be a great source of information. Click on "Reifenliste" and you'll find a selection if tires, mostly with short reviews and some general or more specific information. I drive the above mentioned Enduro1/2 on my 3AJ now but I will probably be going for the T63 next time. However, due to the durability of said Enduro1/2, next time might be in two or three years
