throttle sticks

When I put the bike in the garage at night everything is ok with the throttle. When IS leave te bike outside during the day the throttle does not release back. I checked and lubed cables no help at all. Any ideas thanks 1990 xt 600

Clean and lube the throttle tube on the handlebar and in the bar mounting...

Tried that already. What type of lube do you use? I use a type of grease

Jens Eskildsen 13 Nov 2013 17:44

Grease might be too sticky, especially when its cold outside. Perhaps you could try to clean it up and gently "lube" it with wd40 or simular.

Thanks I will try that

I use a runnier type of anti seize on all mine, it's a copper based. I'm running at 15-20F with no sticking. WD-40 has a tendency to dry out and get gummy, I've had cables get real sticky using it unless reapplication is fairly frequent.

Threw some penetrating oil and seems to work. But I will try some antiseieze also its 30 f degress here too thanks for all your help
