the joys of a leaking head gasket

Wonderful. I had a small leak coming from the head gasket (i.e., where the head bolts to the block) on my 1VJ. I pulled everything off and the first problem I noticed is a stipped allen bolt on the side of the engine where the oil was leaking. Actually, the bolt is fine. Rather, the top of the hole in the block is stripped. When the head is removed, I can get the bolt started no problem and it holds. There is still room at the bottom of the hole, so all I need is a new longer bolt. Unfortunately, the bolt uses a 6mm allen key and is something like 100mm long and I can't find anything matching that description anywhere.

Basically, what I'm looking for is suggestions. 1) Does anyone know where I can get a bolt matching the above description? (I've tried the web extensively, to no avail) or 2) Barring a new, longer bolt, what are my options?

Appreciate the help.

YAMAHA will of course supply you with a new one at a cost. The routes you can try

Is repair the thread on the current bolt with a dye oand put a helical repair in the block,

buy a new bolt from an engineering firm.

or probaly just a cheap buy a set of steel bolts off ebay:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=10066
