TTRE suspensions - to change or not to change?

Leigh, would you advise me to try to change suspenders / front forks and put some TTR ones?

If yes, do you know anybody trustful who would do the job around london (I see you are in Watford - I'm in east London)?
do you reckon it's still possible to get those original TTR parts new, perhaps via a yamaha dealer (or where else)? would a yamaha dealer do the job for me?

or would you rather suggest me to sell my TTRE and get a second hand TTR, hoping to find one that is not too knackered?

Please Advise... thank you so much for all your previous experiences / info / advise you have very kindly shared in this website... it's all super precious mate!

As far as I know it is a straight swap, (I am expecting to have to replace fron brake hose and spedo drive to allow to the longer forks) The hardest part will be finding a pair of front forks, if you call this number 01704 897 551 they are breaking a stolen recovered TTR and still might have the front forks and rear shock avaliable. I have not fitten mine yet so cant coment on any problems i might find....hopefuly none!
Just a little note, I recived a pair of dust and oil seals for the TTR (04) front forks and was blown away to find bill fo ~£80!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Christ are all orignal yam spairs that much!

Thanks for the info Bikerfromsark,

I will call that number now.
I wish you luck with your swap! Please let me know how it goes.

Do you do it yourself or do you get any mechanic to do it for you?
I admit I'm absolutely useless with tools in my hands(!)
do you know anyone / place to suggest, in London?
Would you try at a Yam dealer?

Cheers

Question TTR headlight

In the posts on this thread it seems to be agreed that the TTR headlight is pretty useless.

Can anyone recommend a good headlight to fit the bike? (I have read elsewhere that the Acerbis after market enduro headlight is not great either) - how do you find out about such things without actually buying one !!!!!!!!?

Tt600re

I have just bought one of these and I'm really enjoying it. I've never had a big single before and spotted this one on ebay. It has 17" excel supermoto rims and low profile super moto tyres.

I agree, however, that the headlamps are crap.

Obviously with these wheels it's not an obvious candidate for long distance touring but I'm using it in preference to my road bike.

The headlights are hopeless - it won't be much use to me next winter unless I can improve them a bit.
