Tenere spark plug thread repair

Hi, the thread on my cylinder head where the spark plug screws in is damaged and I'm going to repair it but finding it a bit awkward to judge the thread size. It looks like 12mm outside diameter on the spark plug and (i'm not that sure on this one) it looks like the pitch is 1.3mm - one thread every 1.3mm. Am I getting this right? The spark plug is a WD8SE and a Tenere 34L.
Thanks!

Hi,

These links have the information you require (1.25mm):

1. ++ TIME-SERT SPARK PLUG THREAD REPAIR KITS ++ spark plug thread repair kits spark plug problems thread stripped spark plug repair damaged threads in spark plug hole stripped out approved

2. ++ TIME-SERT SPARK PLUG THREAD REPAIR KITS ++ spark plug thread repair kits spark plug problems thread stripped spark plug repair damaged threads in spark plug hole stripped out approved

The NGK plugs I normally fit are DPR8EA-9 (or DPR7EA-9 in winter) where the leading "D" denotes 12mm, and the "E" denotes a thread reach of 19mm. However, please check for yourself.

As GeoffE said the thread repair kits are the way to go.

About finding out what thread size / pitch the plug hole is, its much easier to measure the spark plug it's self. if you have a some vernier callipers, the outside measurement will be something like 11.87 which means its a 12mm thread size and a thread gauge is your friend for the thread pitch. Its most likely to be 1.25 in your case.
