Tenere 1VJ/3AJ mix?

I'm in the process of buying new bike, and this guy sent me this picture telling me that this is 'special' edition of tenere for Dakar rally. Bike is 1987., 27L tank, both kicksart and electric starter.

Was there this kind of Tenere, or is this some hand made mixture between 3AJ and 1VJ?

Hi, This is a 1vj fitted with an aftermarket "rally" kit. The kits are quite expensive and normally sold in italy. The bike looks in good condition!!

I guess bike can be restored to it's original look? Do you have link to manufaturers of this kit?

to make it back to original, just take off the fairing and mud guard, and sell them on ebay. Then use the cash to buy an original headlight and mud guard. The items come up on ebay quite often.

Do you know how much money I could ask for this mudguard and fairing?

Hi Svakak,

If your interested in selling the rally kit please get in touch.

I may be able to help you out with some of the parts to return to original. I think the rally kit also comes with an extra sidestand on the right side of the bike as well as the original on the left side.

Best regards Sam.

I have finally purchased this bike. It's in really good overall condition. Most damage is due to long time just standing in garage not being driven. First I have noticed air filter in this condition.

Beside that everything else seems OK. Next task is returning bike in it's original shape.
