Tank bags for Acerbis on XT600E

Iv got a 23L tank on my 2003 XT600E.

Being plastic and an odd shape, most standard tank bags dont fit.

Anyone got any ideas of luggage I can hang over the tank ?

Hi Ted,
I use a small Oxford tank bag with the map holder on top, takes a little fitting with working out the flow of straps but does the job, or looking to the US they have a range of sadle type bag's that hang on either side of the tank. cheers al

I think saddle bags would be better but it looks like the tank design would really hamper them..

hmmmmm :confused1:

Hein Gerrick

I've bought a Hein Gerrick, Taureg tank bag for my bike. xt600e with a 23l acerbis tank. I've just tried to find it on their site but couldn't. I got it in December.

I cut a section out of the base to make it fit better around the fuel cap. It works fine and has a map pocket on the top.

I picked up a set of ATV Tank Panniers from a place called Tractor Supply. They were only $37, not too bad. Pics:

Cheres for that..They look like what I need.

I'll mail them to see if they will post to the UK.

Are they secure ? Do they strap down at the bottom to prevent flapping about ?

Unfortunately, I've not been able to give them a proper road test, as it's been about 10 degress F here for the last few weeks and doesn't show any signs of warming up much any time soon. If you look closely at the bottom, you can see there's a yellow/orange-ish elastic type cord that has hooks on each end. I've got these strapped to some bits up front and near wear the side plastics attach. Seems pretty stable to me, but I guess I'll find out more when things warm up a bit.

If they're not willing to post to the UK, let me know, we might be able to work something out.
