swingarm bearings and plastics

Hi all, I just purchased a 1983 XT600 Tenere and decided to regrease all the linkages. I managed to wreck one of the bearings in the swingarm pivot, I thought they were loose roller bearings rather than in a cage. Anyway I stuffed the bearing cage and a new swingarm pivot bearing is about $85 australian. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the bearing number so I can buy an aftermarket bearing rather than a genuine yamaha one. The bearing has a bush in the middle and is an interference fit in the swingarm pivot section. Or can secondhand bearings be repaired?

Also The bike needs new side panels and a new front mudguard. Are there any aftermarket plastics for this model that can be bought or if you could advise me of any good Tenere wreckers overseas that would be great.
Any info would be greatly appreciated

Generally advice seems to be to stick to the manufacturers original bearing for critical locations like swingarms - it's unlikely you'll be able to get equal quality for less money.

I second the query about breakers for Ténérés though - anyone know of any being broken in the UK? I'm after plastics & seat for a 3AJ (twin headlamp model, blue).

I gave up after phoning 30 or 40 m/c breakers from a list I found on the web.

I recall reading an advert at a local bike shop for replacement plastics. Front mudguard for xt ~(AUS)$60. I'll drop by tommorrow and get the details.

Hi,
Another false lead. The advert I saw was for Polisport/Link International. They do produce fenders/panels etc, but only for current model motocross machines. They have a website at http://www.linkint.com.au/html/products.html
Cheers Ben
