Stator and pick up

Hi
I ordered a pattern stator and pick up for my XT600 3AJ.
The stator and pick up I received was different from mine so has been sent back
along with my old stator to see if it can be matched up to another stator.

Has any one bought an after market stator or pick up for a 3AJ XT.
Thanks

Stator replacement

You may be able to find an eletrical shop that can rewind the stator at a price less than a new one. They also may be able to increase it's output for a nominal charge. I know there's shops this side of the pond that will do that. Personally, I wouldn't let the original part out of my sight until I had a working replacement !! Good Luck !

I can get the stator rewound but want to replace the pick up as well.
Not sure if its a stator problem or the pick up, only gives problem when hot so difficult to test.
Yamaha only supply stator and pickup together for about £400

This is one of my pet gripes about electronics on bikes/cars... a set of points would cost about £4

I now have a pattern stator which is the same as my oringal it does not come with a pick up.
Has anyone bought a aftermarket pick up for a 3AJ either in England or anywhere in Europe.
Thanks
