starting problems when cold

hi!

today i tried to kick my 34L Tenere,
and it wont start.
the only way to start her was to pull it with my car.
when the engine is hot there is no starting problems.
I use 20W50 oil, so maybe its the reason,
my tenere will not start, because the
temperatures are about 0 degrees! http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif
maybe any other reasons possible?

thanks
Peter

Dzjien dobro Piotr,

when you have unleaded fuel in the carb, a layer of chewing gum will form on the surface [just like boiled milk etc.] and the fuel will not evaporate.
When you are not going to use the bike for a few weeks you can close the fuel cock about 1 km before you get home so the carb is empty. Now you can try to drain the carb and then start.

Thanks for your reply!
I would never fought that the fuel maight
be the reason!
now i know.
but im, not sure hove to drain the carb,
maybye some instructions?

thanks again!

I think there is a big brass screw on the side bottom of the carb. Unscrew this and see if the fuel comes out. Success!

to drain the carb bowl, you have to open screw 21 in this drawing:

sometimes very hard to unscrew. use screwdriver with correct size!!!
do not overtighten the screw when tightening again!

to split my bike apart...
maybe you know what should i mainly take
care of splitting my bike (engine) apart?
maybye thats a bit stupid question but that
