Speedo gear drive TT600re

The plastic gear on the front wheel is worn out after only about 12k
km's. is this normal? i have lubed it once with regular wheel bearing
grease since i bought the bike a year ago, so it shouldnt have failed
due to lack of maintenance. Looking at the parts fiche it doesnt show
a part number just for the plastic gear, only for the complete unit.
Anybody know of another option (metal) instead of buying the stock part
(plastic)?
Lars

Hi Lars,

I read on a Honda transalp site that standard wheel bearing grease will eat away the plastic speedo drive gears, they recomended buying some of the special grease for plastic gears sold for remote control model cars.
