speed wobble

I have just bought a '98 xt600e.
At 100 km/h, it develops a terrible wobble. Is it the tyres?

I am approx 115kg heavy, and have continental twinduro.
rear is 140/80 (TRC80) on a 17" wheel.

any suggestions?

i think i have possibly found the problem.
the back wheel, i notice seems to be badly damaged (buckled)
will see to that, and see how it behaves afterwards

check your wheel bearings

Also check steering bearings, tyre pressures, tyre wear & the rear shock for damping failure if the rear wheel is not to blame.

hey,

be carefull.

a good friend had an accident on his XT600E and after that he complaint about speed wobbles. I tried his bike and it nearly threw me off at 100 km/h, not funny. The frame of his bike had been bent in the accident.

check everything carefully
